Jamie Stewart knows what it’s like to make a child sad. In 2012, she lost her son after birth. In this book, she makes absolutely no reservations about helping others through their journey of loss. Readers who have experienced a pregnancy or miscarriage, or anyone on their support team, will benefit from reading this book. Through her thought-provoking words, she stretches out her arm to hold hands with those navigating the seemingly unknown path of losing a child. This book will affirm the many challenges of losing a parent, illuminate what is and isn’t necessary to lose a parent, and deconstruct the backward ways in which today’s culture deals with such grief. Stewart describes her book as a story not only about love, but about loss and hope in Christ, even when one’s heart is in the deepest, darkest abyss of grief.

“I was inspired to write this book when my son died an hour after he was born in 2012,” Stewart said. “I found myself in a world that I no longer understood, and more importantly, a world that no longer understood me. The purpose of my book is to openly share the struggles of bereaved parents and children while also Guidance/help for those watching their loved ones endure this loss.”

The youngest of three children, Jamie Stewart grew up in a loving Christian family in beautiful Colorado. Stewart has been married to her wonderful husband Andy since 2012, and they have three beautiful children together: their eldest son Logan, his younger brother Sullivan and the youngest Emerson Grace. Her children are the best gifts she has ever received, and being their mother is her greatest title. It was the most challenging thing she’s ever been through, but also the most rewarding so far. Stewart has followed Christ for as long as she can remember, and she strives to become more and more like him every day. He is her creator, her savior, and her foundation. Stewart is the co-founder and director of the nonprofit Walk With Me, where he dedicates his time and resources to helping families survive the death of a baby in the womb or shortly after birth. Make no mistake, this was not her dream ministry, but something she felt called to do. While her family will always be her greatest joy, Stewart also loves good coffee, good food, good movies, spring skiing, and warm summer days. She also enjoys watching big thunderstorms with her husband and dancing in the rain with her children.
